From sports journalism, broadcasting, and announcing, to sports information and promotion, you’ll be ready to join a team of sports media professionals at local, regional, national, and international organizations.
Marywood provides students with experiential learning from Day One. Students can cover Marywood sports by writing and reporting for The Wood Word, broadcast basketball games live from the Athletic Center, and help produce “Beyond the Arch,” a weekly sports television program.

“Sports has always been a passion of mine and I can’t want to see future students follow in my footsteps in the sports media program. Having worked with countless faculty members in the past four years, I’ve learned that one of the most important things to do in life is creating relationships. By doing this, you will be able to do anything you want in life. My proudest moment in college took place off campus when I made my professional television debut during a high school basketball game in 2019. Using all of the things I learned over my first 3 years at Marywood, I felt like a seasoned pro and was so grateful for the opportunity.“
