Nutrition and Dietetics Program

Marywood’s nutrition and dietetics programs integrate theory, practice, and skills in nutrition and exercise science to promote overall wellness. It’s also rated the #1 program in Nutrition and Dietetics by the National Center for Education and Statistics.

Study nutrition and dietetics at Marywood with our two distinct curricula.

Two Ways to Learn, Because One Size Never Fits All

Marywood’s undergrad Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD) provides two curriculum options: our traditional DPD curriculum and our DPD Spanish option, both meeting the requirements set by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND).

Students who choose the Spanish option will have the ability to study abroad in a Latin American country and will complete additional requirements enabling them to become capable to serve the Hispanic/Latino population both linguistically and culturally.

Marywood students in the Nutrition and Dietetics degree can prepare to become Registered Dietitian Nutritionists (RDNs) or Registered Dietitians (RDs).

Students will study:

  • Food Science and Preparation
  • General Nutrition
  • Life Cycle Nutrition
  • Medical Nutrition Therapy
  • Food Systems Management
  • Research
  • Community Nutrition

Get Started!

“I came to Marywood as a non-traditional student enrolled in their Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD) and masters of nutrition program. My favorite thing about Marywood is how helpful and knowledgeable the faculty are, I always feel supported toward reaching my goals!” Elaine House ’21, Nutrition and Dietetics
