The Clinical Services concentration is designed for students who wish to improve their qualifications for applications to clinical psychology doctoral programs, who are seeking master’s level qualifications for a salary increase in their current position, or who would like to find employment in in community sites providing mental health, substance use/abuse, crisis intervention, and/or rehabilitation services. The course requirements include core psychology curriculum as well as specific courses in the areas of intervention methods, assessment methods, a limited number of elective courses, a practicum course, and a closure project that can involve professional contribution or thesis.
Students have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the field of psychology right on campus through the Psychological Services Center, where they can apply classroom knowledge in real-world settings by engaging directly with clients, supporting mental health services, and working alongside experienced professionals.
