      Summary of Duties:

      The Coordinator of Global Education is a full-time position within the Office of Global Education.  This position provides administrative and logistical support to the office with close direction from the Associate Provost for Global Education; will assist in the coordination of the office transportation needs, student housing, and orientations; plan program events/trips; assist students as needed; support departmental staff members; support Academic Affairs with grants and sponsored research; and will problem solve as required.

      Evening and weekend hours are required, in addition to driving students to/from places.

      Educational Requirements:

      • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education in a related field is required.
      • Master's degree in an area such as intercultural communication, foreign languages, education, international higher education, international relations, global studies, or related fields is preferred.

      Work Experience Requirements:

      • Two (2) years’ experience working in international education, student services, academic advising, international engagement, or a related field is required.
      • Experience in higher education and/or cross-cultural programming, advising, or counseling is preferred.
      • Knowledge of international educational systems and credentials is preferred.
      • Fluency in English with proficiency in additional languages is preferred.

      Special Qualifications:

      • Strong technology skills and the ability to utilize software to provide effective student service.

      Essential Elements:

      • As a direct report to the Associate Provost for Global Education, this position will assist in related tasks and is supportive of all responsibilities in this area
      • Coordinates all logistical needs of the programs, including, but not limited to, student housing arrangements, all details of transportation, and scheduling of classroom space
      • Assists in document gathering and processing of information as it is related to international student visa status
      • Handles all purchasing of materials and supplies as they apply to incoming international students
      • Coordinates all events scheduled for global programs including, but not limited to, international delegation visits, coordinating meeting schedules, preparing presentation materials, scheduling space, making necessary arrangements for facilities and catering, and all other details to ensure the success of each event
      • Assists in registering students and processing student/instructor payments as needed
      • Maintains orderly and updated file documentation for international students
      • Receives, registers, and orients new and potential international students as needed
      • Assists in developing new contracts for internships and marketing
      • Handles department website updates and incoming inquiries
      • Works cooperatively with all other staff members, including program instructors, to maximize the short and long-term success of the programs

      GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES:

      The Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations is responsible for managing relationships with corporate/foundation donor prospects who have the ability to make gifts to support the identified needs of Marywood University. This position is charged with developing and implementing strategies for securing financial support from a portfolio of donor prospects, including identifying, qualifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding gifts for the University.

      ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

      • Identify, develop, and manage a portfolio of active corporate and foundation prospects that provide the resources needed to meet the University's fund development goals.
      • Develop and execute appropriate cultivation strategies including collaboration with University administrators, faculty, staff, and volunteers, as needed.
      • Design and execute effective strategies relative to all aspects of the gift cycle upon identification and initiation of contacts with potential and existing donors.
      • Move donors toward solicitation, including drafting of proposal, proformas, and other necessary documents to advance the solicitation process and closure, along with completion of appropriate stewardship duties.
      • Collaborate with deans and other academic leaders on grants to obtain funding for academic programs, including communicating with foundation representatives regarding programming and funding opportunities.
      • Assist in the corporate and foundation relations goal setting process and contribute to attainment of goals.
      • Develop and implement solicitation efforts to secure financial support from vendors and the regional business community, including corporate sponsorships for academic initiatives, athletic initiatives, and key University events, including Celebrate Marywood.

      REQUIRED COMPETENCIES (knowledge, skill, abilities):

      • Proven experience in fundraising and in personally cultivating and soliciting prospects.
      • Ability to articulate the case for support.
      • Understanding of the needs and interests of donors to develop mutually beneficial relationships between donors and the University. Possess solid relationship-building skills.
      • Excellent interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving, research, project management, and written and verbal communication skills with a strong customer service donor-centered approach.
      • Ability to work individually and in a team environment.

      REQUIRED EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:

      • Bachelor's degree required.
      • Five to seven years successful fundraising experience (with demonstrated financial results).

      ABLE Grant

      • The English as a Second Language (ESL) Instructor will be responsible for teaching one or more classes as part of the ESL program offered by Marywood University both on campus and at community sites. This includes assessing students and planning lessons in alignment with the Pennsylvania Department of Education curriculum and Marywood University.  The ideal candidate will have the ability to motivate and retain adult ESL learners, and must be able to communicate and collaborate effectively with outside agencies, students, and administrative staff.  The ESL Instructor is responsible to the Adult Basic Literacy Education (ABLE) Program Director and ESL Coordinator under the supervision of the Assistant to the Provost of Research and Sponsored Programs.

      The Staff Counselor assists with provision of the counseling services and education programs of the Counseling & Student Development Center (C/SDC). The Staff Counselor is an active member of the Division of the Student Experience, which collaborates with students, faculty, and staff to fulfill the mission and goals of the division and of the university.

      ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

      1. Provide individual and group counseling, crisis intervention, emergency coverage (see “5” below), assessment, consultation, and outreach services to Marywood University students.
      2. Provide weekly supervision to C/SDC graduate trainees, and take part in the professional development of C/SDC graduate trainees at weekly staffings. This includes: research, preparation, and presentation of three to four didactics per semester as well as maintenance of supervision records and appropriate documentation and evaluation.
      3. Coordinate assignment of new client intakes to current trainees based on experience, caseload, readiness, and availability. 
      4. Assist the Associate Director in the coordination of outreach programming in collaboration with the Division of the Student Experience staff, faculty, and other administrators in areas of health/wellness, developmental topics of young adults, and mental health concerns. Specifically, this involves assisting with training Resident Directors (RD) and Advisors (RA), peer educators, orientation leaders, and C/SDC graduate trainees; and helping to coordinate campus-wide awareness and prevention programs on a variety of topics pertinent to college students.
      5. Participate in emergency coverage available to Marywood students, including the C/SDC’s drop in hours.
      6. Assist in the coordination of screening days (e.g., depression, anxiety, and eating disorders) in collaboration with the Director, Associate Director, and other members of the University community.
      7. Assist with assessments of needs within the community and develop new counseling/student development services and programs.
      8. Participate in New Student Orientation programs and related activities of the Division of the Student Experience as requested.
      9. Represent the Counseling/Student Development Center on university committees as assigned.

      11. Respond to inquiries from faculty and staff regarding student mental health needs.

              The Adult Basic Literacy Education Instructors will be responsible for teaching one or more classes as part of the ABLE program offered at Marywood University. This includes assessing students, remote and face-to-face instruction, and planning lessons in alignment with the ABLE curriculum.
